Domain guide
How to connect a custom domain to your SiteNeuro site
Your SiteNeuro site is live the moment you activate it, at your free address (yourbusiness.siteneuro.com). When you're ready, you can point your own domain — like yourbusiness.com — at the very same site. It takes about five minutes and needs no technical skills.
.com domains cost about $10–$12/year. We just guide you through it.
Step 1 — Choose a great domain name
- Keep it short and memorable — easy to say over the phone and type from memory.
- Match your business name where you can — it's what customers already search for.
- Prefer
.com— the most trusted and easiest to remember. - Add your city or service if your first choice is taken (e.g. austindentalcare.com) — also a strong local-SEO signal.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers — they're easy to mishear and mistype.
Not sure what to pick? In your SiteNeuro dashboard, open Domain Setup and tap “Ask Neuro for name ideas” — Neuro suggests short, available names from your business name, what you do, and your city.
Step 2 — Register or transfer your domain
You can buy your domain anywhere, but we recommend Cloudflare — SiteNeuro hosts your site on Cloudflare, so connecting it afterwards is the most frictionless, and Cloudflare sells domains at cost with no markup (often the cheapest at renewal, too). GoDaddy and Namecheap work well if you already use them.
Cloudflare ★ Recommended
Register a new domain
- Sign in at dash.cloudflare.com (create a free account if needed).
- Open Domain Registration → Register Domains.
- Search the name you want and pick an available one.
- Add it to the cart and check out — full price, no markup.
Transfer a domain you already own
- At your current registrar, unlock the domain and copy the EPP / authorization code.
- In Cloudflare, open Domain Registration → Transfer Domains, enter the domain and code.
- Approve the confirmation email; the transfer finishes in about 5 days.
GoDaddy
Register a new domain
- Go to godaddy.com and search your domain.
- Add an available name to the cart — skip the add-on upsells you don't need.
- Sign in and complete checkout. Find it under My Products → Domains.
Transfer a domain you already own
- Staying on GoDaddy? No transfer needed — go to Step 3.
- Moving to Cloudflare: unlock the domain and get the authorization code, then start the transfer from Cloudflare's Transfer Domains page.
Namecheap
Register a new domain
- Go to namecheap.com and search your domain.
- Add an available name to the cart and complete checkout.
- Find it under Domain List.
Transfer a domain you already own
- Unlock the domain and copy the auth code at your current registrar.
- Staying on Namecheap? Use Transfers → enter the domain and code.
- Moving to Cloudflare: start from Cloudflare's Transfer Domains page instead.
Step 3 — Connect it to your SiteNeuro site
Point your domain at your site by adding two DNS records at your registrar. The first makes www.yourbusiness.com show your site; the second makes the bare yourbusiness.com work too — most people type it without the “www”, and Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn all link to it that way.
| Type | CNAME |
| Name / Host | www |
| Value / Target | cname.siteneuro.com |
| TTL | Automatic (or 3600) |
| Type | A |
| Name / Host | @ (the root — some providers want this blank) |
| Value / Points to | 37.16.30.151 |
| TTL | Automatic (or 3600) |
If @ already has an A, ALIAS, ANAME or
URL Redirect record, delete it — only the A record above should stay.
Leave your MX / email records alone; this doesn't affect email.
Don't use your registrar's “forwarding” or “redirect” option for the bare domain.
Those only work on insecure http, so https://yourbusiness.com
would fail to load — and browsers try https first.
Cloudflare ★
Select your domain → DNS → Records → Add record → enter the values above → set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud) → Save.
GoDaddy
My Products → DNS (Manage DNS) → Add New Record → enter the values → Save.
Namecheap
Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS → Add New Record → CNAME Record → enter the values → save.
After you save, DNS usually updates within a few minutes (occasionally up to a few hours). Your site then appears on your custom domain automatically — there's nothing else to do.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to buy a domain?
No. Your site works from day one at your free yourbusiness.siteneuro.com address. A custom domain is optional.
How much does a domain cost?
Most .com domains are about $10–$12/year, paid directly to the registrar. SiteNeuro adds no markup or fees.
Will my site go down while I connect the domain?
No. Your SiteNeuro address keeps working the whole time, and your custom domain simply starts serving the same site once DNS updates.
Which registrar should I use?
Cloudflare is the smoothest because we host your site there — but GoDaddy and Namecheap work just as well.
I'm stuck — can someone help?
Ask Neuro in your dashboard, or email [email protected] and we'll walk you through it.
