ChatGPT Prompts for Small Business Owners: 25 That Save Hours Every Week
What are the best ChatGPT prompts for small business owners? The ones that hand it a specific job with your real details: "reply to this complaint," "turn these three reviews into a post," "rewrite my homepage headline for [service] in [town]."
Below are 25 copy-paste prompts grouped by job, plus a 4-part formula (role, context, task, format) that makes any prompt work in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
Most people try ChatGPT once.
They type "write a marketing post for my business."
They get back something like: "Elevate your experience with our exceptional services! ✨"
And they decide AI isn't for them.
The problem wasn't the AI. It was the prompt.
I'm the founder of SiteNeuro, and I'm not a developer.
We built the whole platform by giving AI clear instructions instead of writing code by hand.
Over about 1,000 hours of building, the biggest lesson was simple:
AI gives you exactly what you ask for. Ask vaguely, get vague.
So before the 25 prompts, here's the formula behind all of them.
The 4-part prompt formula
Every good prompt has four parts:
- Role: who the AI should act as. "You're a friendly office manager at a dental practice."
- Context: the real details. Your business, your town, your customer, the email you received.
- Task: one clear job. "Write a reply that apologizes and offers a new appointment."
- Format: what the answer should look like. "Under 100 words. Warm, not stiff. No exclamation marks."
Miss the context and you get generic. Miss the format and you get an essay.
Copy the prompts below, replace everything in [brackets], and paste in any real material they ask for.
These work in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. If you're still choosing one, I compared them in ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini for small business.

3 rules to stay safe
- Never paste passwords, card numbers, bank details or private customer data. Describe the situation instead.
- Check every fact before you send it. AI can state things confidently that aren't true, especially prices, laws and dates.
- Read it out loud. If it doesn't sound like you, edit it until it does.
When to go beyond prompts
Prompts are perfect for one-off jobs. But if you find yourself pasting the same details every week, the next step is letting the AI reach your information directly, for example through Claude connectors for your email, calendar and files.
And if the job is your whole online presence (website, posts, review replies, answering visitors), that's what we built SiteNeuro for. Full disclosure: I'm the founder of SiteNeuro, so weigh my view accordingly.
